Spacecraft Press is proud to announce the publication of “11 Poems for Apollo 11”, a collaborative project more than a year in the making. A total of 50 copies were produced, 25 of which are for sale.
“11 Poems for Apollo 11” showcases the respective works of 11 poets who were each tasked with responding to the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing, using only 11 words. Each poem in this collaborative collection follows this constraint.
The poems, each one presented on paper that approximates the gray hue of the surface of the moon, are packaged in numbered, semi-transparent, white film capsules, sealed vessels that mimic the ceramic modules of the ISS and constitute a light, yet protective housing, a container ideal for the poems’ ascent into space…
Numerous poets were approached and asked to contribute to this project. The first 11 to respond were included in the collaboration. The featured poets include:
