Spacecraft Press is proud to announce the publication of Hygeia by Kyle Flemmer. A total of 50 copies were produced, 25 of which are for sale.
Hygeia is part of a larger series of works by Flemmer, entitled “Astral Projection”. The project is written after Christian Bök’s long poem Diamonds from the book Crystallography, and emulates the formatting Bök uses in that poem. In “Astral Projection”, Flemmer’s poem (originally titled 10 Hygeia), compares the greek goddess to the asteroid name after her, ’10 Hygeia’, (the fourth-largest asteroid in the solar system).
Kyle Flemmer is a graduate from Concordia University with a double-major in Western Society & Culture and Creative Writing. He is the author of several chapbooks and was a finalist for the the 2016 Irving Layton Poetry Award. Kyle founded The Blasted Tree Publishing Company in 2014 as an outlet for his writing and to build a community and support network for emerging Canadian artists. He is passionate about social satire, philosophy, and science, and enjoys writing short stories, poetry, and critical essays. Other hobbies include DJing under the alias Hydrogen Jukebox, tattooing, and the unmitigated pillage of second-hand book stores.
Hygeia is available for $3.00 including domestic postage (+$1 non-Canadian postage). To order, please contact Ken Hunt at firstname.lastname@example.org. Paypal is preferred. Money orders in CAN dollars are also accepted.
